Some Breathing Space at the Pump as Fuel Prices Reduced by Ksh. 5 and Ksh. 2

Kenya's Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has reduced the prices of petrol and diesel by Ksh.5 and Ksh.2, respectively, in a move that is expected to bring relief to motorists.
The new prices, effective from December 14, 2023, are as follows:
  • Super Pretrol: Ksh.212.36 per liter (down from Ksh.217)
  • Diesel: Ksh.201.47 per liter (down from Ksh.203.94)
  • Kerosene: Ksh.199.05 per liter (down from Ksh.203.12)
This reduction in fuel prices comes ahead of EPRA's monthly review and is a positive development for consumers who have been facing high fuel costs in recent months. The new prices are expected to be maintained for the next few months, providing some respite for motorists and businesses.
The lower fuel prices are also likely to have a positive impact on the overall economy, as reduced transportation costs can lead to increased economic activity and growth.
However, it is essential to monitor the global oil market and local demand for fuel to ensure that these lower prices are sustained and not temporary.
The recent reduction in petrol and diesel prices in Kenya is a welcome development for consumers and businesses alike. While it is crucial to keep an eye on the global oil market and local demand, the current trend indicates a more affordable fuel future for Kenyans
